Como o projeto era baseado em uma estação espacial e se baseava no transporte de carga em órbita, a RKC ⚾️ queria substituir o transporte de carga de um satélite de um foguete reutilizável através de dois veículos chamados "boos" do ⚾️ ônibus espacial e "boosters", com o objetivo de transportar cargas em órbita através de uma estação espacial de apoio, a ⚾️ partir de bases de embarque ou desembarque.
O projeto inicial de "boosters" era formado por três conjuntos de espaçonaves do ônibus ⚾️ espacial RVSK-2 e RKSK- III RKD.
As duas últimas foram construídas em junho de
1985 pela RKK Energia AG, com um total ⚾️ de dez veículos com carga útil ampliada, incluindo o RKK "Fat Man".
Mais tarde, eles foram renomeadas com outros nomes para ⚾️ refletir o sucesso comercial na produção comercial do veículo movido a combustível líquido.
